In The NewsArt doll sculpting is a fine art that encompasses many talents and many crafts. Many parts of an artist's life are involved in the creation of their art. It is our goal within this site to present the artists' lives, works and businesses as a whole. We will be sharing updated information about the artists we represent: their books, classes, seminars, shows, public appearances, news, magazine and WWW articles, links to web sites they maintain, the guilds and organizations they belong to and how you may contact them. If you have information to share please or by bringing this site to an artist's attention. NEW!The July 2006 issue of Contemporary Doll Collector has an article on Caroline Goodgion, by Linda White-Francis. See pages 30 and 31. From Caroline Goodgion's Winds of Zephyr Series, Breaking Free will be at the Academy of American Doll Artists booth at the Doll and Teddy Bear Expo East 2004. The expo is to be held at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington DC, August 27th through the 29th. On Friday, August 27, the show is open to the Trade only. Saturday August 28th, from 9am - 5pm and on Sunday, August 29th from 10am - 5 pm it will be open to the public. Gallery member Cheri Hiers has been chosen as an Artist of the Month at The World of Froud web site.
Our artist member, Kim Jelley's Blue Ice Faerie is featured on the cover of an upcoming book by Kathryn Witt. Kim's artist dolls Sea Siren and The Grumpets, along with several others, are also in the book. Contemporary American Doll Artists and Their Dolls, shown here. Watch for word of the brand new book by Kathryn Witt that features Kim Jelley's and Cheri Hiers' work in early 2004. One of our new site features is our searchable Trade Secrets section.
